Pull Wire Assemblies
Precision Mandrels, Wires and Tube Components for Medical Devices
We produce pull-wire assemblies from stainless steel or nitinol tube, with pull wires micro-laser welded to the ring.
Outflow holes are laser cut to customer requirements.
Pull-wire assemblies are available in our standard sizes thru our Component shop. Press HERE to submit your enquiry for custom made pull-wire assemblies.

What are Pull-Wire Assemblies?
Pull wire assemblies are critical components in steerable catheters, enabling precise control and navigation within the body during medical procedures. These assemblies typically consist of thin, strong wires—often made from materials like stainless steel or nitinol—that are integrated into the catheter’s structure. The wires are anchored at specific points, such as a distal tip or a pull ring, and connected to a proximal control mechanism. When tension is applied to the pull wires, they deflect or steer the catheter, allowing physicians to maneuver it through complex anatomical pathways. This balance of flexibility, strength, and control makes them indispensable in modern minimally invasive procedures.
In catheter design, pull wire assemblies are used in applications like structural heart interventions, neurovascular procedures, electrophysiology, and endoscopy. They come in various configurations, such as single-wire or multi-wire setups (e.g., 1, 2, or 4 wires), depending on the desired steering capabilities.
We supply off-the-shelf options in certain sizes ranging from 6 Fr to 17 Fr, though custom assemblies can go up to 36 Fr for specialized needs. These assemblies are usually laser-welded for durability and precision, and they may include features like tensile testing to ensure reliability.
The technology behind pull wire assemblies has evolved to support rapid prototyping and scalable manufacturing. We offer bespoke designs tailored to specific catheter requirements.
