Laser Cutting

Precision Mandrels, Wires and Tube Components for Medical Devices

Laser cut holes in tube
Laser cut tubes

We offer laser cut thin-walled tube components, whereby tubes are rotated and moved in a longitudinal mode in order to cut slots, holes and spiral features into the tube wall. Parts are subsequently passivated or electropolished to provide a satisfactory surface finish. Laser cut tubes made from stainless steel grades 304, 316 and nitinol are offered.

Microcoils are manufactured by laser cutting thin walled tubes. By careful design, hypotube is cut to provide a flexible “snake” type component, which can be manipulated to guide either sensors or actuators along a tortuous path into the human anatomy.

Marker bands

Marker bands are cut by laser from radio-opaque materials such as platinum iridium alloy, gold and tantalum.
